Melon Mobile Pre-Loved iPhone Device Returns
If a customer wishes to return a pre-loved device, they must submit a completed Goods Returned Authorisation Form directly to online@melonmobile.co.za, including the original invoice number and all required details.
You can get this form by emailing: online@melonmobile.co.za.
Please note: To return an iPhone, you will need to de-activate it. Instructions for this can be found at the end of this document.

Important Information
De-Activating your iPhone
Make sure you know the Apple ID and password associated with the iPhone. You’ll need them to turn off Find My iPhone and sign out of iCloud.
Steps to Sign Out of iCloud and Remove FMI on iPhone
1. Open Settings
Tap the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Go to Your Apple ID
At the top of the Settings screen, tap your name / Apple ID banner.
3. Scroll Down and Tap “Sign Out”
Scroll all the way to the bottom and tap Sign Out.
4. Enter Your Apple ID Password
You’ll be prompted to enter your Apple ID password to turn off Find My iPhone. Enter the password and tap Turn Off.
5. Choose What to Keep on the iPhone
You’ll be asked what data (Contacts, Calendars, etc.) you want to keep a copy of on the device. Select or deselect as needed.
Tap Sign Out again to confirm.
6. Complete Sign Out
Wait a few moments as the phone signs out of iCloud.
Once done, Find My iPhone is turned off and the device is no longer associated with your iCloud account.
Confirmation
To make sure FMI is off:
Go to Settings > Tap your Apple ID name (if still signed in).
Tap Find My > Find My iPhone – this should now be disabled if signed out properly.
Or if signed out completely:
Open Settings – there should be a “Sign in to your iPhone” prompt at the top instead of your name.

You’ll Need:
Access to iCloud.com
Your Apple ID email and password
Optional: Two-factor authentication if enabled
Steps to Remove iPhone from iCloud and Disable FMI
1. Go to iCloud.com
Log in using your Apple ID and password.
2. Click on “Find My iPhone”
From the iCloud dashboard, select “Find iPhone”.
You might need to re-enter your password.
3. Select “All Devices”
Click on the “All Devices” dropdown at the top center of the screen.
Choose the iPhone you want to remove.
4. If the iPhone is Online:
You will see its current location.
Choose “Erase iPhone” to wipe the device remotely.
Confirm the erase, and after it completes, the device will still be linked to your iCloud until you remove it.
5. After Erasing (or if the device is Offline):
Click “Remove from Account”.
This action turns off Find My iPhone and signs the device out of iCloud.
“Erase iPhone” does not immediately remove FMI—it just wipes data.
You must click “Remove from Account” afterward to fully disable FMI and unlink the device.
Once removed, the iPhone is no longer tied to your iCloud account. FMI is off, and the next person can activate the phone with their own Apple ID.
STOLEN DEVICE PROTECTION
✅ Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Open Settings Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Go to Face ID & Passcode Scroll down and tap Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcode depending on your device).
3. Enter Your Passcode Enter your current device passcode.
4. Scroll to "Stolen Device Protection" Scroll down and tap Stolen Device Protection.
5. Tap "Turn Off Protection" You’ll see an option to turn off this feature. Tap "Turn Off Protection".
6. Authenticate You’ll need to use Face ID/Touch ID and possibly your Apple ID password.
7. Wait (if not in familiar location)
a. If you're in a familiar location, it turns off immediately.
b. If not, you must wait 1 hour, then re-authenticate again to complete deactivation.
